Westerville Parent Council and Roush Honda of Westerville have announced the recipients of the 2025-26 Great Educator Mentor (GEM) Award, which is presented to individuals who go the extra mile to make a positive impact in the classroom and schools.

Westerville North High School senior Shira Baumann is among 12 students who have been selected as a Zonta Club of Columbus Outstanding Young Women in Central Ohio for 2026.

Westerville North High School science teacher Virginia Tompkins has been named High School Teacher of the Year, Genoa Middle School social studies teacher Leslie Thompson received the Middle School Teacher of the Year and Alcott Elementary fourth grade teacher Laura Kerns earned the Elementary Teacher of the Year honor by the Westerville VFW Post 7883.
 

Three Westerville Central High School students are state champions in four events and the WCHS Boys team earned state runner-up for the second year in a row after competing in the 2026 Indoor State Track Championship on March 6 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva.

The All-Westerville High School Honor Band, which features the top band musicians from all three Westerville high schools, performed during the Westerville Community Band’s annual Young Artists Concert on March 7 at Westerville Central High School’s auditorium.

The Rotary Club of Westerville recognized its March 2026 Students of the Month during a March 5 meeting.
